Located in the mountainous region of Wenzhou, F.X. Mayr will be the first holistic eco-wellness retreat in China.

Drawing inspiration from its beautiful location - the flow of the secluded hills that IS the site – the building aims to touch the earth lightly. We envisioned a building, perched up off the ground , where nature and life within it, can continue to flow beneath it. The loop as a building encapsulates the flow and enforces a powerful energy of the mountain as well as creating an infinite and continuous spatial experience. Like the brand that will house it, the building is inspired by local and sustainable materials but at the same time is progressive in all its vocation within this new iconic identity. Programmatically the building needs to house the hotel, spaces for therapies, teachings on mind and body with a clinic at its centre.

The 3-story loop is to be constructed in a hybrid - timber structure, and will be the largest of its kind ever built in China. The choice of natural building components and energy-saving MEP solutions will make the building truly a leading pioneer in sustainable construction in China.
