Moving from a house you have lived in for many years to a city apartment is a big step – especially if you want to continue pursuing your beloved hobbies. For our customer, a passionate hobby baker for decades, we took this attitude to life as inspiration for the design of the new apartment.
A high-quality built-in oven took centre stage in the tall kitchen cabinet, framed by an arch. This arch is reminiscent of the arch of the oven that the client had in his garden. A round tray, which is permanently mounted on the kitchen cabinets, serves as a kneading surface where the client kneads his dough and prepares potato gnocchi.
A round spice rack on the wall brings soft, almost meditative elements into the room and creates a special atmosphere.
The colour scheme is deliberately vibrant, with contrasting deep blue and magenta. Golden accents on lamps and furniture handles add warmth and elegance to the rooms.
The master bathroom adds an exotic touch with blue tiles in a palm tree pattern. Wall lights play with light and shadow, echoing the movement of the leaves – a small, poetic detail that subtly enhances the feeling of space.
Personal mementos, such as the table legs from the family estate, find a new stage in the apartment. With a coat of blue paint, they harmonise perfectly with the new colour scheme and combine tradition with contemporary design.
This project shows how architecture and interior design can combine personality, memories and passion – a home that embodies hobbies and expresses joie de vivre.
