The historic Steinach district is home to a unique Building. 
The existing building in the historic Steinach district of Merano stands out for its richly ornamented Belle Époque façade and dates back to the 19th century. In 1897 it was renovated by Pietro Delugan and extended by an additional floor, which has now been carefully refurbished. The two apartments on the fourth floor were sensitively renewed; the roof was re-covered, dormers and façade restored, and the windows replaced, while historical details such as the window handles were preserved.

The attic layout was largely retained but enhanced with new windows, generously opened gable windows leading to the terrace, and south-facing loggias that create brighter and more spacious interiors. In terms of design, the renovation draws on the Belle Époque with its eclectic mix of Art Nouveau, Neoclassicism, and historical influences. This ornamental language is reflected in the wall designs, color concept, and details.

Restored tiled stoves, carefully coordinated furniture colors, locally produced real-wood veneer, and a herringbone oak floor emphasize the building’s historic character. Color accents and floral patterns in the bathrooms complete an overall design that respectfully preserves the historical fabric while interpreting it in a contemporary way.
