Molenaar & Co architecten as Architects

A copy or 'edit' of the original?

In 2015, Molenaar & Co architects were approached by the Vossers-Sippens family, who were fascinated by the De Bruyn house in Schiedam. A monument of Nieuw-Zakelijk Bouwen from 1930, designed at the time by architectural firm Brinkman & Van der Vlugt for one of the directors of the Van Nelle factory in Rotterdam. The Sippens family had the following wish: build a villa for us, based on the organisation, spaciousness and aesthetics of De Bruyn's house. It was an 'adaptation of', attuned to the wishes of the initiators, to the zoning plan and the Well-being requirements of the municipality of Bloemendaal and with the application of the most modern techniques in the field of comfort and energy performance. The villa was completed in the summer of 2016.
