On the seventh and eighth floor of the new hotel 21 House of Stories Navigli is I MIRADOR, two squares suspended over the city. Inspired by the Spanish word mirador, we designed a space where people can enjoy a panoramic view of Milan.
The terrace on the seventh floor hosts a swimming pool, a lounge area, a cocktail bar and a long high table through which people can enjoy the splendid view.
The water, emphasised by the reflective surfaces of the bar counter and the pool, the combination of hand-decorated ceramics, graphics, shades of blue, and the lush vegetation give a 'Mediterranean' touch to the design. One can sit by the pool on cushions or cosy daybeds, upholstered in fabrics of different textures and colours, or on rust-coloured sofas and lounge chairs under the pergola. Nature is a fundamental component of the space, which is present not only through the landscape design, but also the choice of green materials and textures that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
On the rooftop, on the eighth floor, there is a wine bar and a restaurant with a 360 degrees view of the skyline. Tables and chairs are arranged around the large semicircular counter in the centre of the space. The cladding of circular tiles of compacted stone in different shades makes the counter three-dimensional and textural. On this terrace we also find a second dinner area set up with a modular upholstered bench and a more private lounge area overlooking the pool.
