Kifid office

Kifid – Complaints Institute for Financial Services recently relocated to two floors of the Monarch Tower in The Hague, marking a new chapter for the organization. With a growing team and the need to vacate their previous office due to a large-scale renovation, Kifid partnered with AREA designstudio and interior architect Nina Graziosi to design a contemporary, future-proof workspace that fosters both professionalism and approachability.

The Monarch Tower’s organically shaped architecture served as a starting point for the interior concept. Soft, rounded lines echo the building’s form and are carried through into the interior, most notably in the central core and a sculptural connecting staircase. This staircase not only links the two floors physically but also encourages spontaneous encounters and collaboration between teams.

The design focuses on creating a calm and welcoming environment, with an emphasis on privacy and professionalism. The reception area sets the tone: an inviting space that feels both warm and secure, with areas designated for confidential conversations. A key challenge in the design process was to accommodate different visitor flows — clients, stakeholders, and staff — with clear, intuitive routing that respects the nature of Kifid’s work.

In terms of aesthetics, the color palette translates Kifid’s corporate identity into a more natural, earthy expression. Subdued blues, warm neutrals, and biophilic accents combine to create a serene atmosphere. Materials were carefully selected for their sustainability, tactility, and durability — from recycled-content carpet tiles to FSC-certified furniture.

A highlight of the project is the thoughtful integration of soft textures, acoustic elements, and greenery, supporting well-being and focus throughout the office. Together, these elements reflect Kifid’s mission: to be accessible, trustworthy, and fair, while offering a supportive environment for both employees and visitors.
