TU Delft’s new facility in The Hague provides a strategic meeting point between the university, policymakers and decision-makers. Designed as a multifunctional venue, it accommodates professional events, knowledge exchange and hybrid working for TU Delft employees. Visibility, sustainability, collaboration and connection formed the guiding principles of the design.

The interior brings together technology and nature, reflecting TU Delft’s international reputation for research and education in engineering. Technological references are balanced with natural forms and materials, expressing both the university’s innovative character and the importance of maintaining a strong connection between people and their environment.

A central wall finished in clay plaster divides the interior into two complementary zones. On one side, fluid, wave-like forms convey the strength, energy and continuous development of technology. On the other, soft shapes, tactile materials and a light, natural palette evoke the calm atmosphere of a coastal landscape, creating an environment that supports concentration and wellbeing.

The result is more than a workplace: it is a dynamic platform for collaboration and innovation. Circular design principles, biobased materials and carefully integrated technology contribute to a forward-looking environment that connects national and international guests with TU Delft’s vision for a future in which technology and sustainability advance together.
