Project: KCS is Achmea insurance's client contact centre. Because of the volume of work towards the end of each year and the expansion of the business, KCS decided to open a new site at Zoetermeer. They opted for a shared building by the A12 road. A typical, conservatively designed office building. newDirections was commissioned to give the building and its furnishings the look and feel of the Utrecht site which was also designed by us. We did that by incorporating special features such as a briefing room made of oriented strand board, a meeting room in the style of grandma's room, extensive use of visual materials and effective reuse of available materials. The design aimed to accommodate long-term developments. The climate control system was modified to ensure a pleasant working environment and the data network was replaced. The budget restrictions were considered when developing the concepts. Available furniture and other materials were reused and new items were purchased at relatively low cost. This has resulted in a future-proof site which is just right for KCS and its personnel. And all that designed, purchased and installed in a short timeframe which coincided with the summer holidays.

Outcome: The new accommodation and work environment for new KCS personnel for the end of year rush was delivered in September 2011.
