We were asked to design the courtyard of the school since the remodeling of the library, which was being hosted by this courtyard, had just been finished. A metal structure harbors a large strained structure that covers the roof of the courtyard to protect it from rain in winter, being high enough to allow ventilation. The decision of which material should be used in the strained structure was carefully thought in order to allow adequate light to enter.
Urban furniture such as tables and benches were developed in this project. The furniture surrounds the central courtyard and allows space for the meeting of students, both for meals and for classes outside the classroom.
Artificial light has been designed so as to emphasize the curves of the structure, while an RGB system has been used to allow changing of colors in order to generate different scenes depending on the circumstances.
