The project is an old farm, which origins date back to the 18th century. The farm includes a residential building, a barn and adjoining farm buildings. In total, these were seperated in eight apartments and two studios. In order to preserve the identity of the buildings, existing and new components form a harmonious connection.
The center of the complex is a Chinese-inspired garden which invites to communication and meditation. It is surrounded by a wall, which was created from the broken stones of the demolished parts of the building. It is shared by the residents.
The aim of this 1000 m² project was to optimize the quality of life of the residents. Therefore, not only the criteria of Feng-Shui was taken into account in the space planning, but also building biology aspects (radon gas ventilation, shielding of strong radio waves, avoiding water veins). In addition, emphasis was placed on natural building materials and components.
Each apartment is individually tailored, generously maintained in 4-5 star hotel standard. By avoiding stereotypes, the project resulted in functional, flexible apartments with high standards and quality.
