Molteni&C and Dada, two of Italy’s trail-blazing contemporary design companies, both members of Gruppo Molteni, present in the Belgian market for over 30 years, will be opening a new Flagship Store in Brussels on 30 May. The 650 sq m showroom will be devoted exclusively to the two Italian brands. Their entire production will be on display, affording visitors a unique opportunity to satisfy all their home furnishing needs: from the kitchen to the dining room, from the living room to the bedrooms, not forgetting home office furniture either. The image of the store, designed by Nicola Gallizia, faithfully mirrors that of the most important Flagship Stores around the world, including: Milan, London, New York, Paris and Singapore, just to mention a few.
The “Patron” of this initiative is Frédéric Bosmans, a highly regarded entrepreneur in the furnishing sector. Over the last ten years he has made a name for himself in the Brussels area thanks to his “Living House” brand, his professionalism and his eclectic ability to interpret Molteni&C’s ideas for the home and also Dada’s for kitchen designs.
Molteni&C and Dada’s proposals include models that have become design classics, such as the modular 505 ed. 2011 and Pass ed. 2012 systems, both designed by Nicola Gallizia; sofas and armchairs such as Hannes Wettstein’s Turner and Reversi or Ferruccio Laviani’s Large and Portfolio. Great Classics such as the LessLess table, design Jean Nouvel and Arc by Foster+Partners, a multi-award winning table made with innovative materials such as light concrete.
And then wardrobes and beds, such as the Gliss system and Glove beds by Patricia Urquiola or the Tea Time Bed designed by Arik Levy. For Dada three highly successful models such as Hi-Line 6, design Ferruccio Laviani, Trim by Dante Bonuccelli and INDada by Nicola Gallizia. Three modular kitchens that perfectly interpret today’s space as a focus of both cooking and socializing.
Outstanding among the numerous items on display, the collections presented at the recent Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, including the Grado° Collection, the work of brilliant Israeli designer Ron Gilad, nominated designer of the year by the prestigious Wallpaper and Elle Deco magazines, with the latter declaring Grado° as the best furniture collection in 2012. Large and small tables, bookcases and glass cabinets, furnishings featuring innovative designs in which technology and use of materials come together harmoniously to produce strikingly beautiful items. Then Gliss Walk-In, the new wardrobe system, design M.D.T., which completes Molteni&C’s night-time range with functional solutions of superb design.
Lastly, the Gio Ponti collection, a re-edition of 1950s furniture. The range is the result of meticulous cooperation beween the heirs of the great 20th century Italian «maestro» and Molteni&C, a company attentive to combining contemporary designs with the great classics that wrote the history of Italian design all over the world.
