A mountain home for the soul. This could be definition of this house in Montecampione (BS) for Claudia Parzani, president of Allianz Italy, vice president of Borsa Italiana and Managing Partner West Europe Linklaters.
Claudia has never broken ties with places and people of her youth. In Montecampione she finds not only the familiar Lombard Prealps - she was born in Brescia - but, above all, the lifetime friends. So, an oasis of tranquility Away from the frenzy of an everyday life made up of journeys, meetings and public commitments.
The apartment, located in one of the condominiums perfectly integrated into the wooded spot, was a family home that needed a radical renovation. Although the structure and the original project were of undoubted quality, the needs of a large contemporary family demanded a rethinking of spaces and functions.
As always, Claudia decided to entrust the development and realization of this project to the company co-founded by one of her dearest friends, the architect Cristian Minerva (who was also "resident" since ever in Montecampione, where they met little more than children).
The request for a very welcoming but not typically mountain environment, or at least treated with a non-preconceived language, found its answer in the mustard colored false walls, in contrast with the two variants of gray / blue of the walls, and in the ceppo di grè flooring which refers to the close bond with Milan, but also more prosaically to the desire for practicality of the hostess.
The kitchen, originally on the upper floor, was taken to the lower one, forming together with the conversation area, a large living area dominated by the large stone fireplace.
The upstairs is now characterized by the presence of an important custom-made sofa / island bed and by a new distribution of the bathroom.
Great attention to the lighting system (Viabizzuno / Modular / Muuto / DCW éditions / Dabù the selected brands) and to the furnishings. The kitchen made of fir wood is in dialogue with the existing staircase (that has been brought to the rough) and with the Ethnicraft table and bench (like the double bed). The reclaimed double-seater leather sofa looks at the vintage armchairs purchased together with other pieces in auctions dedicated to authors of Scandinavian design.
The built-in wooden wardrobes, of excellent original workmanship, have been covered with floral patterned wallpaper. Many are the textile elements designed and made to measure.
