Salmon Avenue

This monolithic house can’t be missed amongst its neighbouring period homes. In contrast to the red brick and bay windows along the leafy street is this family home, constructed in raw concrete.

While the dramatic concrete façade will make a statement in the neighbourhood, it’s been beautifully conceived with a light ‘touch’. The precast concrete panels, encasing the two-levels at the front of the house, have been ‘spliced’ with glass, creating both a lightness and sense of controlled transparency.

In contrast to the front portion of the house, containing the more private areas, such as bedrooms, the rear elevation, comprising a single glazed pavilion overlooking the 15-metre lap pool, includes the more public areas within the home such as the kitchen and living areas, benefiting from the parkland views. Adjacent to the pool and living areas is a generous alfresco area creating an idyllic environment.
