Gelre Ziekenhuizen uses a specific house style for its signposting. A custom-made signage system was therefore designed and developed. The house style of Gelre Ziekenhuizen has been beautifully integrated in the signs used. Gelre Ziekenhuizen is located in Apeldoorn and is right in the middle of the Veluwe nature reserve. The signs incorporate elements of the surroundings in such a way that the whole is entirely in keeping with the internal and external surroundings of Gelre Ziekenhuizen.
A start was made with the signposting near the end of 2005. We opted for route numbering. The renovation and new developments will be completed by the end of 2008. Route numbering is a highly flexible system in that, whenever a department moves, only the large central name panel needs to be changed. Both the hospital itself and the users appreciate the route numbering system. By repeating the numbers on intersections/stairs and lift, the user easily finds his way around.
