The Olympic Town

The Olympic town comprises an urban development of three world-class sports venues – an athletics stadium, a swimming centre and a gymnastics arena. It is the aim to create a dynamic city district in which elements such as sports, residential, commercial, cultural, educational, tourism and leisure are integrated.

The design emphasises the merging of the city and the environment as well as the harmonious relationship between man and nature. It strives to achieve an efficient use of land, establish a compact city and constructive habitat that will be perfectly matched, whilst creating a dynamic city featuring the ecologies of man and nature. The five Olympic rings symbolize the five zones of a modern city, which are the Ecology Zone, the Sports Zone, the Cultural Zone, the Neighborhood Zone and the Consumer Zone. Each zone is linked to and overlaps one another, forming different multi-functional and multi-dimensional spaces. It can support a wide variety of living and behavioral styles providing a functional and creative infrastructure for development.
