Adjacent to the historic MacArthur Landing Memorial was The Oriental Leyte - a 10-hectare resort development in Leyte, Philippines. Tropical architecture takes advantage of the climate by blurring the edges between the interiors and the exteriors. Louvers and various shading devices provide veiling effects on the views and much needed shade for the guests. The plan is also cut and clustered in a way that gives guests surprising openings throughout the hotel.
