Located in the heart of Tbilisi, SAAD Aparthotel explores the relationship between contemporary hospitality, material honesty, and local cultural identity.
The project brings together raw architectural surfaces, warm timber, carefully selected furnishings, and expressive graphic elements to create interiors that feel both contemporary and inviting.
Exposed concrete ceilings and visible technical installations establish an industrial architectural language, balanced by natural wood, soft textiles, and sculptural lighting. A restrained material palette provides continuity throughout the property, while contrasting colors and distinctive details introduce a sense of playfulness.
Rather than repeating a single interior formula, the apartments explore different atmospheres within a shared design identity. Some spaces are light and understated, while others introduce richer colors, graphic compositions, and more expressive furnishings.
An important aspect of the project is the reinterpretation of traditional Georgian decorative elements within a contemporary setting. Alongside the custom-designed tiles of the reception desk, the studio developed distinctive upholstered headboards inspired by the geometric motifs and ornamental compositions of traditional Georgian Oriental carpets. These references are translated into a contemporary visual language, introducing subtle connections to local heritage without relying on literal historical reproduction.
Custom wall graphics, geometric patterns, and carefully considered lighting further contribute to the individuality of each space. The contrast between raw structural elements, traditional references, and softer residential details creates an environment that feels informal yet thoughtfully composed.
Designed by Elenias, SAAD Aparthotel reflects an approach to hospitality interiors in which architectural character, cultural context, functionality, and memorable guest experiences are equally important.
