Top 10 Trending Brick Cladding

From exterior facades to interior spaces, brick cladding provides a solution that is both classic and natural. Every day architects share their material and interior selections on Archello and through their knowledge sharing our database of specifications is growing rapidly. In this week’s theme article, we take a look at brick cladding. These are the designs that were most often specified by architects and designers in the past year. These are ten of our most popular options.

1. Linea by Vande Moortel

Handmade in Belgium, Linea facing bricks by Vande Moortel are a popular option. The manufacturer produces 95,000,000 bricks a year, for projects from Europe to Asia and the United States. The main Linea range is available in 8 neutral hues, including light grey, a classic brown-red, and a darker black-brown.

2. Architectural Linear Series Brick by Arriscraft

Once available only in Europe, Architectural Linear Series Brick by Arriscraft is now readily available in North America as well. Arriscraft bricks are calcium silicate bricks, not clay. This series is an extra-long brick and features a range of finishes, including matte, smooth, sandblasted, and textured. The bricks appear distressed for an authentic look. Colors include grey, black, brown, gold, and copper.

3. Keravette by Ströher

Keravette by Ströher is a brick slip system for facades. Made in Germany, it is available in 24 colors including yellow, black, and white — as well as the more classic brown and red. Keravette is resistant to frost and fire-proof and can be paired with thermal insulation. Corners are also available to complete the look.

4. Nature7 by Vande Moortel

Nature 7 is a molded brick by trusted manufacturer Vande Moortel. The series is handmade and has a natural look. Colors, including grey, black, red, brown, and white, can be mixed. Vande Moortel has been in business since 1864, working out of its original location in Belgium.

5. Old Brick Originals Thin Brick by General Shale

Made from real clay brick that has been cut thin, Old Brick Originals Thin Brick is especially suited for interiors uses but can also be used on facades. It has a natural look but is lightweight and easy to install. It adheres easily to a range of surfaces and can be installed quickly. Finishes can be either smooth or textured, and Old Brick Originals Thin Brick is available in a range of colors.

6. Petersen Cover by Petersen Tegl

Petersen Cover by Petersen Tegl is a tile brick product made from English and German clay. It adds a classic look to facades and roofs. Cover is available in over one dozen colors, including grey, red, and white. Founded in 1791, Petersen Tegl is a brickworks based in Denmark and exporting around the world.

7. Weimar HS by Hagemeister GmbH & Co. KG – Klinkerwerk
Weimar HS by Hagemeister is a light-colored clinker brick that is available in sand tones as well as white and beige. Vertical variations in the brick make the product reminiscent of traditionally made bricks. The bricks are made in Germany.

8. Clay Brick Slips by Ketley Brick

A cladding system, Clay brick slips by Ketley Brick are especially ideal for prefabs. Manufactured in the United Kingdom, finishes can be smooth or textured. Colors — which are made not to fade over time — include the classic grey, red, and brown, as well as a distinctive blue.

9. Face Brick by LOPO Terracotta

Face Brick by LOPO Terracotta is manufactured primarily for exterior uses. Made of clay, the facing bricks can be customized in different sizes, colors, textures, and shapes. The product is made in China with terracotta techniques. The color is manufactured to be long-lasting, and the bricks are designed to weather well.

10. D91 by Petersen Tegl

D91 by Petersen Tegl is a coal-fired brick. The light grey brick is a part of the brickworks’ range of three dozen colors. D91 is popular for a varied look that mimics traditional handmade brick, although the brick is made on machines. Based in Denmark, Petersen Tegl uses primarily clay from the local surroundings.
