Silvered Wood

Silvered Wood was developed for a retrofit of a building in the suburbs of Tokyo, in a sunshade application, and is the most avant garde of our current work. It’s essentially a metallic wood, similar to a gelatin silvered photo, but in a cross cut pear wood, and so it displays a large scale distinctive grain that holds its form from distance. The reflection and diffusion of light off this is amazing; it features a rose gold and yellow gold pearl that offer some amazing tones not seen before in natural metals. Again a clear coat, there will be subtle metallic base metal color changes based on the type of aluminum used.
