The retro ceiling counterbalance lamp by designer Jan Hoogervorst is one of the most iconic lighting products of the Dutch lighting industry. Hoogervorst was a mid-century designer and designed the so-called 'Annual Collections' for ANVIA from the early 1950s to the early 1980s. Since 2015, we have started to reproduce his most popular designs. This is reflected in an extraordinary combination: the design of the past with the technology of today.

The ANVIA retro ceiling counterbalance lamp 2001, The Flying Duke, is based on one of the very first counterbalance lamp designs by J.J.M. Hoogervorst from the mid-50s. The ingenious and subtle adjusting joint ensures  the retro ceiling lamp to be freely positioned. The lamp can easily be put up and down and be fixed with nut. The lampshade itself can also be set in various positions. Its countless positions make this lamp extremely functional and user friendly.
