The new Banda Agency space reflects the spirit of the company—innovative, ironic, and open to bold ideas. From the outset, the clients wanted an office that felt more like a grand apartment with a story than a conventional workspace.
Located in an early-20th-century building in central Kyiv, the office embraces its architectural heritage: high ceilings, original plasterwork, and a rich historical context became the foundation for the design. Two large wooden volumes with mezzanines were inserted into the space, creating a flexible open layout organized around several interconnected zones.
The entrance area, clad in oak panels and decorative friezes, evokes the atmosphere of a traditional institution. Yet a sculptural stainless-steel reception desk and a large Luceplan spotlight anchor the space firmly in the present. The main hall resembles an eclectic studio-apartment: soft lounge groupings, custom-made tables, and a raised podium that functions both as a presentation stage and a communal working platform.
The interior blends vintage furniture, playful forms, and contemporary art—from futuristic Frag armchairs and the iconic 1960s Soloform leather set, to 1980s bent-ply school chairs and the ironic works of Oleksiy Kondakov, Max Zabrodskiy, and Danik Manzhos. Together, they infuse the space with edge, individuality, and unmistakable character.
The kitchen, with its rippled bar counter and Nuvola pendant by Mario Bellini, appears minimalistic yet includes all the necessary equipment. Between the windows, paint swatches from the renovation process were preserved as a visual memory of the project’s creative journey. The bright, pared-back dining area is softly zoned by large planters with lush greenery.
Inside the wooden modules are restrooms, meeting rooms, and Zoom booths, while the mezzanines above house workstations and a “cloud lounge” with soft mats for downtime and informal gatherings. Nearby, a workshop area features a large table and wall-mounted aluminum sorting panels for experimentation and rapid prototyping. These panels also display the agency’s extensive award collection—a reminder that creativity is always grounded in dedicated, everyday work.
