Ertürk House was conceived not merely as a formal architectural exercise, but as an exploration of the relationship between light, proportion, and materiality, and their influence on spatial experience. Rather than creating an iconic or experimental object detached from its context, the design seeks to establish a calm, restrained residential environment that integrates naturally into its surroundings and supports everyday life.

The massing is composed through the careful arrangement of distinct volumes, creating a balanced architectural composition. The dialogue between the abstract lightness of white rendered surfaces and the tectonic solidity of exposed brick defines the architectural identity of the house. This material relationship extends beyond visual contrast, reinforcing both the spatial perception of the building and the way it is experienced over time.

Openings are conceived not simply as frames for outward views, but as carefully controlled spatial thresholds mediating the relationship between interior and exterior. The changing qualities of natural daylight become a fundamental design parameter, shaping the atmosphere of the living spaces and enriching the occupants’ daily experience.

The project adopts a design strategy based on minimal intervention and a restrained material palette.
