G|M Room

Understanding each project as a series of desires that are shaped by unique stories is a process that reveals the possibilities that come with building a new space like the G | M Room.

The starting point for this interior design project came from the need to create a functional, intimate space in which a client could get ready and organize all of her makeup and accessories in an organized manner. The mission was clear: to combine functionality with a touch of sophistication that reflected the owner’s young, modern and meticulous personality.

In search of a truly sophisticated paradise, the inspiration for the details of this bedroom came directly from 18th century French decoration. The key element that embodied this reference was boiserie, a technique that incorporates moldings into the walls, evoking a very elegant ambiance. To prevent this feature from adding too much of a classic tone, a boiserie model with straighter shapes and a clean design was chosen, thus creating a more contemporary, balanced and timeless proposal.

On the other hand, implementing these elements on the walls was also a choice centered on one of the biggest challenges of this project. Due to previous problems with infiltration, it was necessary to avoid installing fixed planned carpentry and the boiserie allowed the walls to remain in the masonry, as desired by the client, without giving up the expected visual result.

Contrary to the wood panels or wallpapers that are quite common in bedrooms, opting for boiserie as elements of differentiation on the walls was a step that heightened the feeling of coziness without influencing the lightness of the environment as a resting space.

Nothing beats the convenience of a carpentry project planned and executed to meet all the client's needs. Spacious drawers, a mirror with integrated lighting and a glass countertop to facilitate viewing of accessories were just some of the details that made the space dedicated to the dressing table truly functional and unique.

Part of the successful composition of the cabinetry is the mirror with front lighting. This solution is among the most notable aspects of this project and was also the most desired and expected solution by the resident. Meticulously planned to offer a daily experience very close to a professional space, the new dressing table is an invitation to exclusive moments of preparation and care. In addition, it also plays a significant role in the lighting design of the room as a whole, offering a stunning effect whether during the day or when used at night.

On the client's list of requests, drawers equipped with glass displays to facilitate the visualization of makeup items and accessories provided the perfect environment for moments of beauty and self-care. As a special detail, the mix adopted in the handle models that combine special Zen Design pieces with the application of hollows for a minimalist effect also added an extra touch of personalization.

The Nothus headboard is also a star in the constellation of this bedroom. Despite keeping some furniture that already lived in the space, renovating this piece with a model with a bouclé finish was a choice that made all the difference. This trendy fabric, known for its impeccable texture and super soft plush feel, contributed to a sophisticated and contemporary atmosphere. With its pleasant-to-the-touch surface, the sensory experience and visual effect resulted in a true oasis.

Understanding that the bedside table has a special space to express the personality of a bedroom, it is in this point of view that some essential objects for the client's routine are placed, such as trays, the lamp, and a special work of art signed by Nara Ota. Far beyond the functionality proposed by the carpentry that offers the support point of the ideal size for her needs, the delicate and meticulous production of environments was also able to complete the bedroom decor by highlighting points that value harmony.

A successful project should reflect the personality of its residents. With a few small changes to adapt the decor to the client's style, the space became even more customized, faithfully reflecting the client's taste and essence.
