With this project, we have tried to achieve the perfect balance between form and function. The brief, received from our doctor clients, was simple: to have a space that was absolutely maintenance free. Hence our design approach was simple, to design the house in a very minimalist way, with straight clean lines and a subtle play in colour.

One is welcomed into the foyer with the wooden archway that leads into the living space. The living is further divided from the dinning through a TV wall partition. To expand the space visually, light colour pallet was chosen throughout the living space. So, be it the moulding on walls or the TV wall panel, both, are carried forward in a simple white undertone.

However, a pop of colour is added through the kitchen and breakfast counter. The blue themed kitchen is what brings the whole place together and creates an effortless flow between the living, kitchen and dining spaces. It beautifully links the whole common space of the house and keeps the whole spaces binded to one another.

Continuing the lighter pallet of the common space, two out of the three bedrooms are designed in a similar minimal language. The bedrooms are adorned with little parts of wood while rest all remain plain and white, keeping in mind the simple, sleek design approach.

While the master bedroom, has been designed quite differently. Our idea while designing this room for our young doctor couple clients, was to add a sense of freshness, hence the grey and peach colour theme. The room is designed with intricate moulding patterns on wall, complemented by the grey concrete textured furniture pieces, while the selected peach fabric binds the whole room together in a symphony.

Less is more. And that is exactly how we’d describe this small and cozy apartment. While giving attention to the minute details, we have tried to achieve a very modern and contemporary theme, while keeping the undertone of the house very minimalistic.
