HYATT PLACE FRANKFURT AIRPORT

Ceramiche Refin S.p.A. as Manufacturers

German architectural firm JOI-Design Innenarchitekten chose the originality of the Fossil porcelain tile collection by Refin  for the new Hotel Hyatt Place at Frankfurt Airport in Germany. Sophisticated elegance and accurate design characterize an international concept that mirrors the dynamism and contemporary taste of global travelers. The project won the “Hospitality” category  the international competition  Refin Project Contest 2020, conceived to reward the best architecture and interior design projects made with Refin tiles.

Hyatt Place Frankfurt Airport is the first Place hotel in Germany, the brand of the Hyatt luxury chain focused on the business target with a wide range of services for companies.  The 312-room building is located on the former Rhein-Main  US-Airbase and is part of the new Gateway Gardens district, which is taking shape around Europe's largest airport hub.

The nature of the public park overlooked by the hotel enters the bright, discreet surroundings, where the mix of natural materials and the different shades of green of the furnishings and plant elements invite guests to relax, concentrate and interact.

In the open-plan hall, the patterns of the Fossil collection -  throughout the ground floor in the Grey shade - move in various directions and pleasantly lead through the paths where the restaurant, bar and lobby meet, creating optical illusions of empty and more densely designed areas. The strokes, drawn by hand, revisit the prehistoric footprints of plants and animals on the rock formations, interrupting and overlapping each other like the signs of time and  the stories of the past. A particular surface chosen in line with the natural mood of the interiors, to enliven them and make them unique thanks to the graphic effect and the soberly décor touch.
