The Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), also known as Tecnológico de Monterrey or just “Tec“, is a private university based in Monterrey, Mexico.

Founded in 1943 by Eugenio Garza Sada, a MIT-educated industrialist, the university has always had close ties with Mexican business elite.

ITESM is actively involved both in the business areas and in the technological innovation of its engineering companies. In fact, it is recognized as one of the best business schools in Mexico and it is the best ranked university in the country.
The private university has filed the highest number of patents in the country, thanks to its research primarily focused on biotechnology, health, automotive, food and manufacturing industries.

Also, it is one of the main pioneers of current information and communication technologies in Latin America and Mexico.

For the construction of the new Data Centers of the TEC institute, the Mexican customer ATN Ingenieria y Servicios relied on Newfloor. Starting from the designer’s request, in which a smooth brushed steel finish was specified as top covering, Newfloor produced and supplied about 250 sqm of raised access floor with panels of type G32HAI: calcium sulphate core thickness 32 mm of density 1.500 kg/m3, aluminium foil on bottom side and, as commissioned, top covering in brushed iron stainless sheet Inox Aisi 304, bended and undersquared on the panel side forming a cap over the perimeter’s edge.

The panels are installed on a SNFL substructure composed by light stringers and galvanized steel pedestal with nominal height of 415 cm.
