Project Background

This multi-level workplace renovation for Kyko in Sydney presented an opportunity to transform both initial visitor impressions and daily operational functionality. The client brief called for a contemporary design approach that would maintain enduring appeal while refreshing lift lobbies, amenities, and speculative suites across multiple floors.

The Amicus Commercial Interior Design team was commissioned to develop a cohesive spatial experience that balances sophistication with accessibility, integrating elegance, comfort, and forward-thinking design principles throughout the facility.

Design Strategy

The design approach prioritised comprehensive environmental coordination, ensuring harmonious integration across all spatial elements and user touchpoints.

Recognition of lift lobbies as primary visitor interface points informed focused attention to acoustic performance, lighting design, and material selection. These transitional spaces were refined to establish an elevated first impression while setting appropriate expectations for the workplace environments beyond.

Amenity areas across Levels 2, 4, and 8 received contemporary reinterpretation through a curated material palette emphasising warm, textural finishes complemented by ambient lighting strategies. Strategic colour integration and material richness enhance user experience while maintaining functional performance and visual coherence.

Speculative suites were designed to optimise occupant wellbeing through diverse work mode accommodation within flexible, refined environments. Curved architectural forms facilitate intuitive circulation patterns while softening spatial edges to create welcoming movement flows. Rich material textures, considered furniture curation, and tactile finish selection ensure design longevity and adaptability for future tenant requirements.

Material and Aesthetic Framework

A sophisticated design vocabulary unifies the project through deep jewel tones, metallic accent elements, velvet textiles, and natural marble surfaces, creating a cohesive environment that balances polish with approachability. Statement lighting installations and commissioned artwork introduce dramatic focal points while maintaining functional workspace comfort and operational efficiency.
