Mitte, Mixed-Use Development

Borgos Pieper were commissioned to design a mixed-use regeneration project in Berlin´s Mitte District. The 1300m2 development sensitively recovered the historic building fabric of the 18th century building with a south facing courtyard and side wing. Four commercial units are at the base of the block which also houses 14  apartments over five storeys.

The street front building retains vaulted basement spaces as well as a new build wing. Each apartment is unique and has been carefully recovered to show its historic brick fabric and original proportions. Interiors house a wonderful and eclectic collection of vintage furniture, designer pieces and accesories, sourced by a  Gallerist with a impeccable taste and a keen eye for unique objects.

A 200 year-old chestnut tree commands the courtyard space and gives shade to the communal garden.
