On a former campsite is the plan area ' The Nieuwkoopse Eilanden ' realized. The new building plots are spread over a number of headlands between the Nieuwkoopse Plassen and Zuideinderplas.

Jade architects received the assignment to design and develop a family house. It concerns building plot 31 where a 14-meter-wide building can be realized. The garden at the back of the house lays adjacent to the water.

The kitchen-, dining- and living area merge into an open floorplan and are connected by a large veranda over the full width of the house. It creates a pleasant, sheltered spot near the water. Because of the L-shaped space, the house is not completely focused at the water but also provides contact with the neighborhood.

On the first floor, the bedrooms and bathroom on the street side of the house offer a view of the lake. At the rear facade, in the same width as the veranda, a wide dormer window and an indoor balcony have been made, oriented towards the sunrise.

The flat roof of the dormer window is equipped with solar cells. The house is heated and cooled by a heat pump. The house is made out of a gray-red brickwork that, due to its natural appearance, is a good addition to the surrounding area. The roof is clad with a flat roof tile in the same color as the brickwork. The house looks like a modern, solid and monolithic sculpture standing in its natural surroundings.
