On a former campsite is the plan area ' The Nieuwkoopse Eilanden ' realized. The new building plots are spread over a number of headlands between the Nieuwkoopse Plassen and Zuideinderplas.

The characteristics of this plot is the elongated shape and is located along a waterway at the end of one of the headlands, and offers one of the best views over the lake.

On the ground floor in the main part of the house are the living room, dining room and kitchen situated. Views of the lake are captured through big windows. The garden and several terraces are situated around these living areas, partly under a large overhang of the cantilevered floor. The residents can sit in four different places around the house so there is always a shady or windless corner. The bedrooms are situated on the first floor. The master bedroom is provided with a large panorama-window that offers a great view while waking up.

To match the shades of the reeds and wooden banks in the area, the façade is constructed from black wood planks. By cladding the house with one material, the leap in the volume becomes clearly visible; the impressive cantilever towards the lake on one side and the roof terrace on the other end.

The layout of the floorplan fully utilizes the unique location properties and offering the residents a comfortable home in the middle of the lake-scenery, both in the house and outside in the garden.
