Introduction The six storeys brand new residential building is located in the most prestigious location in Cape Town, with a unique view of Table Bay at the front, and the scenic Table Mountain at the rear. Mouille Point’s four ultra-luxury apartments and a double-storey penthouse, are equipped with only Italian and German furniture. It is one of the most expensive private residential projects recently built in Cape Town. The well-known Italian architectural studio LPA (Milan) is the creator of the penthouse and the 1st, 3rd and 4th floors, while Cape Town’s leading interior design studio Make Architects is the designer of the warmer 2nd floor.
LINVISIBILE flush-to-the-wall system has been chosen by the Interior Designers not only for its clean minimalistic style but also for its clever space-saving features, widening furthermore the scenic living rooms and easing smaller spaces as powder rooms and en-suite bathrooms. LINVISIBILE, with its wide range of products, allowed the Italian and South Africans Designers to forget about the limitations of door sizes and finishes, making use of diverse claddings from Ceramic Tiles to the warm colour of Brass.
LINVISIBILE has been working as subcontractor since the conception of the project, assisting architects and designers, both in Milan and Cape Town, to choose the right products for their design requirements. During construction it has periodically supervised general contractor’s related works and, finally, has installed its products to achieve the desired result.
Furnishing Specifications
For this project, LINVISIBILE provided a total of 44 highly tailored doors, in a variety of typologies, finishes and dimensions. In addition to furnishing our doors, LINVISIBILE offered a complete service experience supporting our clients in the design phase, transportation and installation.
Product Descriptions
ALBA Fire Resistant Hinged doors (REI 30 + 90) Our fire resistant REI 30 - EI130 Hinged (mod.F.11 REI), is a patented system for completely flush to wall doors and flush with the wall panels (concealed aluminum and hinges). Linvisibile’s Hinged doors are REI 30 certified, since they provide perfect fire resistance to meet the safety requirements of hotels and restaurants, contract installations, large public spaces and any other public environment where specific fire protection regulations have to be met. Certified UNI EN 1634-1:2009 and BS EN1634-1:2009 and approved on art. 1 del D.M. 30/06/2004. Type approval number FE272EI1030P001; Certificate of fire resistance test N° 42/U/11-125FR. ALBA Hinged doors Linvisibile’s hinged system is our exclusive patented door, which is completely flush with the wall and reinterprets the traditional hinged opening; available in pull and push opening models. It’s distinguished by the use of concealed hinges and the absence of doorframes or jambs to achieve seamless continuity between wall and door. It can be painted in the same finishing as the walls, becoming almost invisible. Or the door structure can be left visible, with only the panel forming part of the design continuum and the panel finishing. The system also can be coated with almost any type of material (metal, stone, leather) to create special atmospheres, in a tasteful way. There are lacquered (glossy or matt) and wooden versions offered as well. ALBA Filo 10 Hinged doors Linvisibile FILO 10 Hinged door is the exclusive door, which thanks to panel thichness of 102 mm, allows a perfect flush with the wall on both sides of the panel. The product stands out for only 3 mm perimetral gap between the panel and the wall.Like all Linvisibile products, FILO 10 Hinged door is distinguished by the use of concealed hinges and the absence of door frames or jambs to achieve seamless continuity between wall and door.
