School Gymnasium

The contract results from a project competition in 2008. The subject to plan was a second gym for the existing school complex in the center from Uster. The new hall should also serve extraschool purposes.


Situation

The existing school buildings come with a distinctive, compact solitary construction supplements. The building is located at the foot of the Aabachpark to Freiestrasse. The connection level and connecting element of the two breaker levels is so at the same time the public connection of these two areas.


Architecture

Insulating, translucent facade elements, which above the exposed concrete base is arranged as a frosted tape on two sides, thanks to the diffused daylight conditions, you can do gymnastics without glare. Outwardly they shape the architectural expression of the building. The hall roof is made of on wooden supports overlying wooden girders spans the element structure of the natural lighting concept. In the three-storey wardrobe tract are the infrastructure rooms and the staircase compactly housed. From the two-storey staircase can you look directly into the hall. Exclusively designed for this building staircase lights emphasize the overhang.


Technical

The gym was created with the minergie label. The sports floor in oak parquet is up for the optimal strength reduction of the turn ends relocated rubber bearings.
