Sinki Industry

“Sinki Industry” is the brand that spread cafe culture in Yeongdo, Busan. It makes the factory a popular place that represents Yeongdo by changing the metal bell-making factory into a cafe. It manages the restaurant, stationery store, and cafe ‘Sinki Forest’ by reproducing the various buildings around it based on Sinki Industry.

The company chose the village around Geoje, and tried the project to achieve success once again that they did in Yeongdo, Busan. They set and managed many spaces so far, there was no project with architects. However, this project aimed to create a space suitable for the purpose of the architect from the beginning. The purpose of the cafe, the quality of the architect, and the identity of the Sinki Industry are the elements for marketing.

The Value of Space with Nature

What is the value of the space found in Sinki Industry, and what space does the SInki Industry seek? Is that the view of the forest and sea? Or is that the space that responded to these places? I found an answer to this question. It is attracting the nature value, the ever-spread nature, to the inner place of the architecture that Sinki Industry pays attention to. So with looking around various spaces of the Sinki Industry, I think the direction that it has to realize and pursue is “the value of space with nature”

It was important to make something here just because it was a Sinki Industry, not to bring it to a good scenery or good place, and I believed this meaning should be displayed by architecture. Therefore, I thought I have to create the space and details to feel the valuable brand image of the Sinki Industry. I wanted to create a space that can be reminiscent of the scene that will unfold in front of users and Sinki Industry in Yeongdo by adding the image to the place that has already been built to the "Hill of the Wind" and ‘Sinki Haero' which was already named by Sinki Industry.
