Sommerhus Frølunde Fed is a contemporary holiday home centred around architecture, natural light and a close connection to its surroundings. Set within the scenic landscape of Frølunde Fed, the house is shaped by the distinctive character of the site and the quiet rhythm of the surrounding landscape. The architecture is driven by a desire to create a retreat where simplicity, materiality and functionality come together in a clear and harmonious whole.

The house comprises four bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a generous living space that brings the kitchen, dining area and living room together in one continuous open flow. This space forms the heart of the home – a place for gathering and spending time together, with room for long dinners, extended conversations and views of the landscape through large glazed openings that bring nature directly into everyday life.

The architectural concept is rooted in proportion, balance and a clear spatial logic. The house consists of two parallel pitched roofs, drawing inspiration from the simple geometry of traditional Nordic architecture. The façade is clad in vertical timber boards in a deep green tone, allowing the house to blend naturally into the wooded surroundings and creating a calm dialogue between architecture and landscape.

Set low in the terrain, the house responds sensitively to its surroundings through the use of subdued, natural materials. Timber, glass and dark surfaces create a considered balance between warmth and solidity, while precise detailing and clear geometry give the house a contemporary yet timeless character.

Transparency and natural light are central themes throughout the architecture. Large windows open the house towards its surroundings, making the landscape feel like an integral part of the interior. Inside, a warm and understated layout creates a sense of calm, with every element carefully considered in relation to both function and atmosphere.
