The Protective Shelter for the Tomb Site of Emperor Yang of Sui Dynasty was the protective structure built over Emperor Yang's tomb site. Located in the Hanjiang District, Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, Emperor Yang's tomb site is the final burial place of Emperor Yang Guang and Queen Xiao. It was discovered in the process of real estate construction at the end of 2012. Archaeological excavations were carried out in the first half of 2013. It were listed in the top ten national archaeological discoveries in 2013, and it has been announced as the eighth batch of national officially protected entities.

The tomb site were composed of Emperor Yang's tomb M1, Queen Xiao's tomb M2 and the surrounding sealing soil of the two tombs, which were also covered and protected by the protective shelter. The protective shelter are located in the center of Archaeological Park of Emperor Yang of Sui's Mausoleum, and its appearance is generally in the form of "inverted bucket" with small square top and large square bottom. The facade is covered with earth below the relative elevation of 1.8m, and above is covered by a sandwich metal envelope and a curtain wall of aluminium alloy tiles. The plan layout of the protective shelter is in the shape of "Hui". In the center is the protection and exhibition space, with the ground visiting trestle floating on the sealing soil of the tomb site. The surrounding space is room for equipment and pipes.

As for the Protective Shelter for the Tomb Site of Emperor Yang of Sui Dynasty, the partial earth covered facade, steel structure rigid frame system of long-span space, light metal curtain wall, floating trestle road and other elements all reflect the integrity, reversibility, minimum intervention and other principles of the design for heritage conservation projects.
