The apartment is located within a historical context of great value: Villa Plinianina was built in 1855 by the engineer Canzio Canzi. The villa is placed in the lake panorama of Como as one of the most celebrated examples of eclectic architecture in Venetian neo-Gothic style.

The flat is the holiday home of a young and dynamic couple who have identified Torno as their place. They love boating and enjoying the quiet of this little paradise which is perched on the shore of the lake and directly accessible by boat.

The project came to life from the suggestions that the lake has been able to give both in colours and in atmospheres. The primary intention was to preserve the dusty and past charm of the villa with contemporary furnishings in bold colours and iridescent fabrics.

The house is arranged like a telescope with the living area extended towards the lake and the sleeping area towards the mountain. The materials are precious: marble and metal blend with the dusty and intense colours of the original frescoes and surrounding landscape.
