In collaboration with Morris & Co, BLOKK developed a competition proposal for a new parish hall at Ullerød Church, originally designed by Ulrik Plesner.
The proposal brings together contemporary architecture and local heritage through a series of interconnected volumes with pitched roofs, inspired by the surrounding roofscape. Natural materials, including brick, wood and clay, create a timeless expression that respects the church's historical character.
A new sheltered courtyard connects the parish hall with the church, vicarage and cemetery, creating a welcoming space for community life and gatherings across generations.
Combining flexible spaces, thoughtful construction and sustainable design principles, the proposal aims to create a modern parish hall that honours the past while supporting the needs of the future.
