Umbrian house

From stone to glass

The project consists in the transformation and extension of a former marble workshop  to become a private house. The location is a small Umbrian village surrounded by nature.

The "signs" of my design research are clearly traceable: lightness and fluidity of spaces, freedom of movement, dialogue between pre-existing elements and added elements. Between memories of the past and expectations for the future.

The fluid spatiality - which plays a lot on the third dimension of the double height - together with "modern" materials in contrast with the stone wall, manage to give a feeling of extreme lightness.
The possible scenarios of everyday life multiply, each finding their own ideal place. Because the freedom of movement in space also becomes an inner freedom to reinvent one's life day by day.
