In the development area WILDGARTEN in the southwest of Vienna 11 residential buildings with 207 privately financed apartments were built. Above a two-story underground garage, which serves as a new quarter garage for several building sites, 13,053m² of usable floor space was achieved.

The urban master plan scheduled a mix of buildings with different sizes. Different typologies were developed from the given building sizes from "S" to "XL". The 11 residential buildings are divided into 5 different building sizes ranging from row houses to 8-story point houses. As identity-creating features, the names of the typologies are based on children's book names. The typologies not only differ in height and volume, but are given their own identity through different facade materials, colors, apartment types and first floor use.

The different building sizes have created a diverse range of apartments between 35m² and 115m². The smallest components "das doppelte Lottchen" and "die 3 Stanisläuse" are terraced house typologies with their own garden. The larger volumes contain multi-story apartments in all sizes and private outdoor spaces such as balconies and terraces.

Particularly in the large-volume components, the basement zone has multifunctional uses. The first floor contains several common rooms, a laundry room, a guest apartment and bicycle storage rooms, as well as commercial space for a supermarket and offices or a doctor's office. The common spaces are oriented toward the neighborhood square in the outdoor area, so communication can take place inside and outside.
The character of the building site is marked by the diversity of the houses. The interplay of different materials, colors and sizes creates exciting spatial sequences.
