Ferrofinestra is Capoferri’s thermally broken window system, representing a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional steel windows from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Suitable for both small and very large openings, it can also cover wide portions of façade. Its distinctive appeal lies in its refined aesthetic, combining a retro character with high technical performance. The interplay of light and shadow created by the slender metal frames enhances interior spaces, including large industrial environments.
Unlike conventional systems, Ferrofinestra is not made from standard extruded or bent profiles. Instead, it is constructed by coupling two 5 mm T-shaped steel elements with invisible welds, ensuring both structural integrity and a clean appearance. The overall thickness varies depending on glazing type, dimensions, and wind resistance requirements.
The innovative thermal break is fully integrated into the profile and remains invisible due to its reduced dimensions, including in operable parts. This solution ensures structural continuity while delivering excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, as well as high performance in terms of air and water tightness, supported by silicone gaskets applied to the frame.
The essential design allows maximum flexibility without compromising profile dimensions or opening types, enabling the integration of multiple locking points in line with modern window systems.
Hardware elements, deliberately visible, contribute to the system’s retro aesthetic while ensuring advanced functionality. Designed and manufactured in-house by Capoferri in stainless steel or bronze, all components are engineered according to the opening type and sash weight.
The multipoint hardware ensures security and uniform closure across the entire sash. Ferrofinestra is entirely manufactured within Capoferri facilities and is available in stainless steel, painted steel, and oxidized bronze. Dedicated handle solutions ensure smooth operation while minimizing effort.
Thanks to its advanced engineering and production quality, Ferrofinestra achieves top UNI certification classes for air permeability, water tightness, and wind resistance, exceeding standard performance requirements.
