In collaboration with MA Architects, we are currently in the process of converting the infamous New York Dock Building on Red Hook waterfront into a mixed-use building contemporary lofts and commercial spaces. The original New York dock company building used to house all goods that were shipped into NYC before being distributed throughout the country. This project involves the conversion of these amazing ware house spaces into quintessential NYC loft style apartments, as well as ground and second floor art studios, offices and cafes. Each residential unit will retain the buildings original concrete structural expression via exposed ceilings and columns, but we will introduce new full heigh steel windows and a center kitchen/bath structure designed in conjunction with Dada / Molteni.
Materials for this project include: Cast-in-place, CMU and Exposed concrete. Insulated and Laminated Glass. Stone, Aluminum, Corten and Stainless Steel. Timber and Veneer.
