The transformation of CR apartment was conceived to meet the demands of a family composed of a couple and a young child. The residents' main desire was to have a spacious and fluid space, contrary to the compartmentalization of the existing areas.
Comfortable, well-lit, and ventilated spaces with optimized layouts, practicality, and a cozy atmosphere were some of the basic requirements that the CR apartment family brought to the design studio.
Their new home proposes a moment of reflection within their busy routine, offering well-appointed spaces that allow for rest, comfort, and many moments of socializing with friends.
The project unfolded in three stages: investigation of the existing structure, design, and execution. Significant demolitions were proposed as a starting point. The elevator core was incorporated into the living area, establishing the central point of this sector.
Around it, the living room, gourmet area, and kitchen with laundry were organized. To integrate the barbecue into socializing moments, its position was reversed to cover what used to be one of the kitchen accesses, which now features a breakfast counter due to this modification.
A slatted plan connects the living room to the kitchen and camouflages the doors leading to the private area, storage, and powder room.
The central core reveals itself as a block of wood and natural stone that provides general lighting for the space.
The isolated volume of the living room was clad in miracema stone and, besides housing the TV and fireplace, it also conceals a technical cabinet, camouflaged by the same cladding.
CR apartment is an exemplary interior architecture project that addresses essential client demands through spatial optimization strategies combined with natural materials and technological solutions, resulting in a practical, cozy, and timeless residence.
