CL House, built on a sloping terrain in the city of Campo Bom, Rio Grande do Sul, is a single-story corner home, which had its program distributed between two blocks, aligned with the sides of the lot and separated by the pedestrian access.
The pedestrian entrance involves the visitor as they walk through the landscaping, while feeling the sunlight filtered through the pergola on their face. From the door, there are three paths to follow. On the right, the resident enters the private volume, and on the left, the social and service area. In front, there’s a direct access to the balcony and pool area, which allows guests to be received for events and gatherings without having to walk through the interior of the residence.
The private area’s hallway opens onto the patio and pool, while the bedrooms face an internal landscaped courtyard, sheltered from the street by vegetation and a plane of white cobogós, which sculpts this volume’s façade, controls the incidence of sunlight and provides privacy to the area. The master suite has a privileged position in the private volume, located at its end, and communicates with both the cobogós patio and the pool area.
The social area faces the other street and encompasses the integrated plan of the living room, dining room and kitchen, which opens to both sides of the volume. From the inside, the views are diverse – in addition to viewing the street, the user can also see the pedestrian access and the pool patio itself. Through a passageway where the lavatory was located, the plan communicates with the garage, gourmet space and balcony. Adjacent to the garage is the service sector with laundry room and two bathrooms.
Inside the lot, the balcony, deck and pool make up a large leisure space, surrounded by tropical plants that bring a piece of nature into the home. Further on, an additional volume was built, with a storage room and a private music studio, for the resident with that artistic streak to concentrate on their compositions.
In general, the house has a light tone, and a mix of finishes such as Portuguese stone, cobogós and paint. Warm tones are present in furniture, floors and wood coverings.
