Located in a green area in the outskirts of Rome Casa C is a cosy one bedroom flat enclosed in a old two-storey building.
The entrance door opens on a large double-height living room directly connected with the only bedroom of the house. The open plan kitchen acts as a screen from the technical and bathroom areas, which are located at the back of the house.
A narrow removable staircase leads to a comfortable raised storage area located under the roof. The scheme develops around a central open plan space allowing plenty of light to penetrate through large windows facing spectacular views.
On the other hand, the simplicity of the layout makes it extremely space efficient. The original chestnut timber roof beams have been kept untouched as existing, becoming the main character of the composition as they stand out compared to the neutral backdrop of the walls and ceilings.
