Rooby Café is located in the heart of Yerevan. The center of the 2000 years old city is an embodied history, so we decided to dilute the atmosphere with a modern corner. And yet, the saturated pink and eye-grabbing solutions only enhance the restrained environment, comprising a unique symphony of old and new.
So, the background of designing Rooby was creating a modern, Instagrammable space that would still be comfortable and relaxing.
The secret behind creating such an environment is simple: colors, shapes, and emotions. When entering Rooby Cafe Cascade, one instantly looks at the “Rooby” neon sign surrounded by an arrangement of tropical plants: it's bright, modern, and stylish. That is the "wow" effect. Then, the whole environment offers taste: perfect lights, pretty backgrounds, and super comfy seats. That is the "Would you take a picture of me?" effect.
For the outdoor area, we were not allowed to touch the original building, so creativity was all we had! We tried to create a space for the guests to both enjoy privacy and meet new people.
So, people come, communicate, and totally forget the outer world. That is the "I love this place!" effect.
Rooby is a reminder that life evolves from old to new, and those two things can perfectly exist in harmony.
