Walk in the park (Workspace)

Curate a sustainable and green-conscious office space as the designers and the client are driven to create an image that correlates to the green energy environment which is one of the company's vision. The design inspiration came from a walk in the park concept whereby we were motivated to simulate a park-like environment bringing it into the workspace. By doing so, the users will be able to experience being connected to the outdoors with a sense of open environment with the access to fresh air and spacious grounds. In that way, users won’t feel that they are constrained by typical workspace environment that consists of plain partitions and thus this will be a positive way to encourage productivity and a motivation manner to strike a balance between work and life.

This international listed company required a Google office-like functional facility that caters to a 24-hour convenient usage for their employees on a daily basis. Particularly on space planning, we have introduced a free flow open concept with less segregation to spaces and to encourage transparency between work spaces in ways to allow a fully ventilated space opens up to natural daylight. Each floor of unit parcel consists of 18,000 sqft and was connected with a central staircase which complies to fire fighting regulations and LEED requirement in order to connect both floors total up a 36,000 sqft to hosts approximately 200 pax of users. We then incorporated a huge open space within that serves dual purposes as a event town hall and cafeteria which able to cater for a 100 pax for events. The designed workspace also features a grand lobby area flaunting the company’s introductory milestones with a mini self service bar, a grand boardroom opening to a panorama view, a few of brainstorming discussion rooms equipped with telecon's technology and flexible working pods that also serves as a phone booth.

Other spaces designed within such as, a studio liked library, a workout space, games room equipped with a karaoke system, a music room with music instruments, sleeping pods for power naps, minibar with refillable healthy bites, kids room and nursing room for parents who decides to bring their children into work, and a training room alongside other miscellaneous spaces. One of the many reasons for this work space to be designed in this manner with a dream-liked facilities is to create a sustainable work space to users in order to adopt a healthy lifestyle and a comfortable ambient to encourage quality work productivity. At the start of this project, we also aimed to curate a space that is able to obtain a GBI (Green Building Index) and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) gold certification which we have eventually succeeded in.
