Hohenberg, a Franconian town with a historic castle, rests on a cliff above the Eger river. Directly below the castle, in a quiet side street, you’ll find the “Alte Schreinerei” holiday home: a residential building and former workshop of a local carpentry. Based on historical photographs, this 19th century property has been lovingly restored to its original state. The interiors of the residential building, however, have been adapted to provide contemporary comforts and furnished in a modern country style. The ground floor has a spacious eat-in kitchen, a tiled stove and a living room with a see-through fireplace. The first floor features the master bedroom with a walk-in dressing room, a further double bedroom complete with a own loft (with space for two children) and a modern bathroom. Tucked away in the roof of the adjacent building there is a sauna and a rooftop terrace with views of the half-timbered houses and forested hills.
What to do? Skiing, hiking, culture (porcelain quarter), swimming, relaxation
Why we like this house? A lovingly renovated, family-friendly holiday home.
