In the heart of the historic center of Barcelona, in the emblematic street of Carme, an apartment is refurbished on the principal floor, with access to three courtyards, the largest being the one located at the back of the plot. These courtyards will be transformed into gardened spaces and will receive a landscaping treatment with the aim of creating an outdoor space to disconnect from the frenetic cosmopolitan pace, especially to the surrounding streets. This green area contributes to mitigate the heat island effect in the city. 

The intervention consists of rehabilitating a house with a contemporary program taking into account the existing architecture. We prioritize the conservation and recovery of its original elements such as carpentry, shutters and hydraulic pavements. These elements, with their wounds and wrinkles, provide a clear added value to the project, combining the historical character with current needs.
