luxury residence.
According to the architectural and photographic survey, the interior spaces are very fragmented and not well suited for use as a home today. On the other hand,
the new program aims to include three apartments and not just one house. The image of the building complex also needs to be changed in terms of form and the materials used. There are too many unjustified cutouts in the facade plans, a random distribution of openings due to successive alterations over time, and a roof with several levels of height, as well as a careless design of the exterior walls and the entire surrounding area.
The project to alter the house aims to adapt the built volume to the new daily living requirements of future users in order to offer more comfort and functionality,
while respecting the basic structure of the previously approved building. In general, the peripheral alignments of the initial layout will be maintained, reducing it in order to free up more space in the
surrounding area for terraces and gardens.
All façades will undergo a renovation in terms of image, type of openings, and materials, adopting a cleaner, simpler, and more contemporary system with a regular pattern of openings. The exterior walls will be covered with “Viúva Lamego” ceramic tiles, where the shine and reflections of light will be enhanced at different times of the day.
The glamour and brilliance of Estoril will be reflected here in the shape of the building and its cladding materials.
