The surge in global coworking culture is undeniable, and Plaza Cubes emerges as a prominent player in this trend in Turkey, boasting over a decade of experience. Our collaboration with them at Normal spans five fruitful years, marked by a multitude of projects covering vast expanses. Yet, the current venture we are embarking on holds a distinct position in our diverse portfolio.
Nestled within the iconic Ferko Building at the heart of Istanbul's bustling financial district in Levent, this project sprawls over 2,000 square meters across three interconnected floors, seamlessly linked by internal vertical passages. Within this expansive space, three generously sized private offices coexist with numerous medium-sized offices, seamlessly integrated into an open area furnished with all the essential amenities for a contemporary office setting.
Managing costs proved to be one of the most intricate challenges of this endeavor. Commencing amid the COVID-19 pandemic, during a period of notable market inflation, it demanded a delicate balance between affordability and feasibility. As the project unfolded, we grappled with diverse obstacles, from procuring materials in a volatile market to navigating the evolving landscape of remote work and adhering to social distancing requirements. These challenges served as a catalyst for our team to showcase resilience, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to delivering a space that not only met but surpassed the client's expectations.
Furthermore, the project encompassed the transformation of a space previously dedicated to art into a functional coworking office. Our goal was to retain the space's cleanliness and artistic ambiance while ensuring no compromise in terms of office functionality. This undertaking called for innovative design solutions, creative space utilization, and a profound understanding of the ever-changing needs of today's workforce.
